The Community Foundation Martin – St. Lucie (TCFMSL) is proud to present scholarship opportunities for graduating seniors and adults looking to upskill in a trade or vocation. Each scholarship has distinct criteria. Please review the criteria prior to submitting your application. Daniel E. Dunn Scholarship

CRITERIA: Recipient must be a graduating senior from a Martin County High School, having an interest in pursuing a career in public health or blood donation or hematology Essay: How do you promote public health in your day to day life and how will you use your future education to contribute to overall public health? 

AWARD: $TBD | DEADLINE: January 10, 2024 | REGION: All public high schools in Martin County

Jack and Dorothy Smouse Awards in partnership with the Martin County Retired Educators Association

OFFERED TO: All public high school students in Martin County

CRITERIA: Applicants must demonstrate financial need; must be entering the field of nursing or social service; official transcript required.

AWARD: $1,000-3,000 | DEADLINE: January 9, 2024

Jared Blue Scholarship

OFFERED TO: Martin County – Martin County High School only 

CRITERIA: Applicants who have a 3.0 GPA and plan to attend a four-year college, are eligible for the Jared Blue Memorial Scholarship, established in the memory of Jared Blue, MCHS class of 2008. Please include an essay that responds to the question, “Seize the day! What does that mean to you?”

AWARD: $1,000 | DEADLINE: January 9, 2024

Sailfish Point Foundation Scholarship

OFFERED TO: All public high school students in Martin County

CRITERIA: Will be based on weighted and unweighted GPA, class rank, number of hours working during the school year, family income, extracurricular activities, and community involvement.

Must be pursuing enrollment as a full-time undergraduate at an accredited educational institution in the U.S.

Must be a graduating senior pursing.

AWARD: $3,500 up to 4 years| DEADLINE: January 9, 2024

Jenn DuBey Career & Technical Education Scholarship

OFFERED TO: All residents of Martin or St. Lucie County

CRITERIA: Provided to an individual who wishes to further their education in the areas of CDL, Electrical, Forklift, Manufacturing, or Marine Engine Maintenance

AWARD: $Cost of program taken into account Full and partial scholarships available | DEADLINE: Ongoing

Joseph A. Catrambone Trade & Vocational Scholarship

OFFERED TO: Anyone pursuing a degree or certification in a trade or vocation

CRITERIA: Plan to enroll in a vocation or trade program and demonstrate financial need.

AWARD: Full need is taken into account – awards amounts are based on need | DEADLINE: ongoing for graduating or recent high school graduates living in Martin County

Sailfish Point Foundation Trade and Vocation Scholarship

OFFERED TO: All public high school students in Martin County

CRITERIA: Will be based on weighted and unweighted GPA, class rank, number of hours working during the school year, family income, extracurricular activities, and community involvement. 

Must be a graduating senior pursuing a degree or certification in a vocation or trade.

AWARD: $up to $3,500.00 | DEADLINE: Ongoing

Dr. Maureen G. And William A. Theroux Scholarship Fund

OFFERED TO: Residents of Martin or St. Lucie County

CRITERIA:

  • Must currently have CNA License. 
  • Plan to enroll in a degree program focused on nursing or a related field.
  • Scholarship can be used for tuition, fees, and books, tools, and/or other requirements required to participate in the program. 
  • Demonstrate financial need – Proof of income/tax return
  • In state schools only with the exception on online degree programs.

Note: Interviews may be conducted.

AWARD: Can be a single or multi-year award with a full or partial scholarship | DEADLINE: Ongoing

Karen Mashburn Environmental Scholars Program

OFFERED TO: Students studying environmental studies, education, or a relevant field

CRITERIA: Friends of the Everglades is pleased to announce the Karen Mashburn Environmental Scholars Program scholarship and internship. One undergraduate or graduate recipient will be awarded $10,000 and participate in a 14-week Fall 2024 internship at Friends of the Everglades, helping to support the Young Friends of the Everglades program and engage in community outreach. The intern will develop a wide range of skills including communication and instructional skills and gain an understanding of governance and guidelines in the nonprofit arena.

AWARD: $10,000.00 | DEADLINE: May 15, 2024
